The Futures Program
The Futures Program was created in 2026 with the goal of making tournament golf more accessible to juniors. Open to kids between the ages of 10 and 13, this program looks for junior golfers who want to make the step forward from playing golf recreationally to playing golf competitively. It leverages the experiences from Coach Sadiq Jiwa who competed at the international level and strives to instill the skills and habits needed to start competing in golf tournaments.
The Futures Program consists of 3-4 hours of instruction per week split into two sessions. This program combines individual swing and game instruction with guided practice and mini competitions. Junior golfers will also be introduced to the tournament atmosphere while learning the rules of golf and competition etiquette. Coach Sadiq Jiwa will also provide guided practice plans and track progress using the Operation 36 method.
Operation 36
Twice a month, the Futures Program will conduct a simulated competition through the Operation 36 method. This method was designed amongst elite coaches to help golfers learn to improve their golf game by focusing on “getting the ball in the hole” as quick as possible. Golfers will play 9 holes and start each hole from 50 yards out. The golfer must shoot better than 36 in 9 holes to move to the next yardage checkpoint. Once the junior golfer completes the target score from 50 yards out, they will move to 100 yards, then 150 yards before playing holes from the forward tee boxes.
Criteria
All interested junior golfers must go through a full game assessment with Coach Sadiq Jiwa to see if they are a fit for the program. The program looks to recruit junior golfers that have a handicap between 25 and 35 and who have some established fundamentals. Junior golfers should be able to get the ball in the air more than 75% of the time and have an enthusiastic interest in competing in tournaments.
Cost
Coach Sadiq Jiwa will be discounting the Future’s Program by donating half of the time to the golfers. Coach Jiwa’s junior golf career was developed from a similar type of program and is graciously building the Futures Program to give back to the junior golf community. Payment cycles for the Futures Program will occur three times a year: January, April, and September. Junior golfers can enter the program at anytime and the amount due will be discounted for the number of sessions remaining in the payment cycle.
